King Farm is a great, diverse, and growing community. Our children attend many schools during the year, and in summer it is great to see them reunited across the lines that sometimes divide them. The Screamin' Geese Swim Team is one way that we can draw together kids of all ages, shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities to represent one thing - our pride as a community. We hope that you and your family will enjoy being part of the Screamin' Geese for this and many years to come.

COACHING NEWS

Assistant coaches, Griffin Ashkin and Laura Wolford, are returning for a second season. With a heavy heart and after much soul-searching, head coach Ethan Bassett decided in December that his burgeoning medical career would not allow him to return to coach for a fourth season.

After fall recruitment for a head coach and interviewing several head coach applicants, in December, the KFST board hired Patrick Marshall to be the head coach of the Screamin' Geese. Patrick is a dedicated educator and coach. He teaches underprivileged seventh grade boys at a Catholic middle school in D.C. and is starting a three year masters of education program at Catholic University. Patrick is the assistant coach for the St. John's high school swim team in D.C. He swam in college at the NCAA Division III level and was the head coach for Kemp Mill in the Montgomery County Swim League. Patrick is 25 years old and plays the guitar in a band based in Baltimore where he grew up. Ethan and our assistant coaches had favorable impressions of Patrick when we swam against Kemp Mill last summer. Patrick is enthusiastic about the KFST; he enjoyed our team spirit last season and is looking forward to working with our swimmers. Please welcome him to the team and give him your full support.
